Service Description

8 weeks of basketball focused strength development for boys ages 13-16. All levels welcome. Coach James meets the athlete where they are at. Teaching proper form comes first, then comes adding weight. The 8 weeks will work on: - compound lifts (deadlift, squat, bench press, etc.) - agility & plyometrics - sport specific movements - mobility (injury pre-hab) About Coach James: James is a basketball shooting coach and personal trainer (CSEP-CPT). His passion lies in helping players unlock their full shooting potential and learning how to develop a positive mindset (on & off the court). He also trains all other aspects of the game (ball handling, finishing, defence) depending on the needs and goals of his players. He has been coaching and training basketball players for over 10 years. He currently head coaches the Jr. & Sr. girls' basketball teams at Centre Wellington District High School. James' training philosophy is that training, especially for young players, must be fun. When players learn to love the game, they will be more intrinsically motivated to improve and work hard. James' educational background in motor learning, biomechanics, sport psychology, and coaching, combined with his 1 year of playing for the Camosun College Mens Basketball team, gives him a unique skill set to help players improve faster and with more joy.
